Realist oil painting using traditional techniques and less toxic solvents is a passion for Lulu Clifton-Evans.

While she paints still life, landscapes and figurative themes she is particularly interested in portraits.

Her work is held in collections in Paris, New Zealand, England, New Caledonia as well as Australia.

Her oil paintings are often a meditation on the beauty of the natural world - from a single flower to the magnificence of the surf coast. Some of her work has resulted from plein air painting at Pt Leo, Shoreham and Gunnamatta through to Frankston and Ricketts Point.

Lulu teaches at McClelland Gallery; opens a life drawing group on Tuesdays at the Mornington Currawong Hall; edits the hardcopy AGRA Magazine and helps run the Australian Guild of Realist Artists nationwide.

Her work featured in the Fairfax Media - Sydney Morning Herald/The Age throughout Australia for her portrait of 95-year-old scientist Hans Brunner who helped exonerate Lindy Chamberlain (26 October, 2023).
